What Are The Conditions Of Ihram For Men?

With the Hajj season upon us, many pilgrims are preparing for their journey to the holy land. Ihram clothing for Hajj represents the unity of Muslims and diminishes differences between them through its simplicity.

For men, there are some rules to follow when wearing the Ihram clothing for Hajj. While it consists of two simple pieces of white cloth, there are some things to keep in mind.     

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS OF IHRAM FOR MEN?

• The top half of the white cloth, known as the ‘Rida’, covers the upper body and the left shoulder at all times. The right shoulder, however, is supposed to be uncovered while performing the tawaf.
• The bottom half of the white cloth, known as the ‘Izar’, is wrapped around the waist casing the area between the navel and feet.
• Don’t wear socks, underwear, or any other clothes, and the head is uncovered at all times.
• Ankles and toes should be visible at all times - wear footwear accordingly.
• Do not use any scented soap, deodorant or perfume when performing the pilgrimage
