Masjid Al Nabwi
Masjid al-Nabawi is Madinah's main pilgrimage site, also known as the Prophet’s Mosque. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) built this mosque himself and is regarded as the second-largest mosque in Islam. It was his last resting place.
Uhud Mountain
Uhud Mountain holds religious significance as being the area where the battle of Uhud took place. This was a noteworthy battle in the history of Islam where the Muslims suffered defeat at the hands of the disbelievers. Muslims from around the world visit this place and pay their respects to the martyrs of the battle. There are several graves and monuments found at this site.
Al-Baqi Cemetery
Jannat al-Baqi, also referred as Baqi’ al-Gharqad is another place to visit in Madinah. It is the oldest and first Islamic cemetery in Madinah. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) built the cemetery himself and the graves of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) wives, his daughters, his grandson Hasan, Companions of Muhammad, and his infant son Ibrahim are buried there.
Masjid Al-Qiblatain
Masjid al-Qiblatain holds importance as this mosque is where the first congregational prayers were held after the change of direction for the prayer. It is said to have been the place where Muhammad (PBUH) received the command to change the direction of prayer (Qibla) from Jerusalem to Makkah.
Ghazwa-e-Khandaq
This site is known as the Ghazwa-e-Khandaq, situated on the western edge of Sela Mountain. It is popularly known as where one of the most prominent battles took place - the Battle of Trench (Khandaq). During this, the Muslims dug a trench to defend the city from the Quraish tribe.
